Banana Trifle
3  tablespoons custard powder 
2  cup(s) milk 
2  tablespoon(s) sugar 
4  ripe bananas slit lengthwise 
2  tablespoon(s) mixed fruit jam 
1  cup(s) cream 
sliced almonds and walnuts for garnish 
1.	Dissolve the custard powder in a little milk. Heat the
remaining milk till it boils. Reduce the heat to low and stir in
the custard taking care that no lumps are formed. Continue
stirring for about 2  minute(s) or till it thickens. Remove from
heat and stir in the sugar. Cool and refrigerate. 
2.	Spread the jam on one half of each banana and place the other
half over it pressing tightly. Arrange the bananas on a serving
dish. Pour the chilled custard over the bananas and top with
whipped cream. Garnish with sliced almonds and walnuts.
